Just before Ambleside town centre you need to take a left signposted Keswick A591, Coniston & Langdale A593:

Follow this road past the shore of Lake Windermere until you turn left at a sign marked A593 Coniston, Hawkshead, Langdale.

After a very short distance you will be directed left again to Coniston, Hawkshead, Langdale A593 and this will take you over a narrow hump back bridge.

Keep on this road now ignoring turns to Hawkshead......

..... until you come to a sign for High Close  which is on the right as the road bends to the left after having driven by a wall with iron rails on the top of it on your left.

This is Ellers Brow and is a narrow steep road which will take you past some houses.

Look out for a post box set in the wall on the left. You need to take the next left after this post box. The road is not signposted other than a sign telling you if you carry on you will be heading for High Close and Grasmere.

Proceed down this road a little way before seeing the sign for Neaum Crag on your right, set in the wall.

Robinsons Tarn is situated on the left and is one of the first chalets you come across.
